DREYGOON
São Paulo - SP, Brazil, 1996

João Victor Bernardo, known as Dreygoon, was born in 1996 in the city of São Paulo. Growing up in the East Zone, he began his first artworks at the age of 19, influenced by the tattoo artists who tattooed him at that time. By observing and spending time in tattoo studios, he developed various techniques such as acrylic, oil, and spray. The artist created his own drawing style based on direct references to the tattoo and graffiti universe that surrounded him in the city.
His current research aims to create a whimsical universe titled “Magical Everyday.” Developing a unique style of drawing and painting, he constructs and adds inspirations from pop culture, mythology, and his own contemporary daily life into his artworks.
Dreygoon is an advocate of “Ready MADE,” allowing inspirations from his daily life to add even more meaning to his works by incorporating everyday objects into his pieces and giving people a sense of identification with the everyday, blending the urban with the contemporary.
Adding his research to the medium used, the artist proposes to create a world where people, in addition to identifying with familiar elements of their daily life, discover new elements that seem to emerge from his magical universe. His works are exhibited in art galleries and on the streets, creating narratives that invite viewers to explore his imagination. Addressing themes in his works with a comic and surreal touch, he merges the “Magical” and the “Everyday” in his creations.
